Getting Around Barbados

🚌 Transport in the Barbados Region

There’s a bus service from Grantley Adams airport but its easiest to take a registered taxi or ask your hotel to arrange a car. All the major hotels are beachside, and as so much entertainment is hotel-based, most tourists don’t bother with car hire. Good tour operators sell day trips to key attractions, check with your hotel for a reputable firm and you can often get a special price.

Travelling by bus or carBarbados has a convenient bus service that connects the island but though cheap schedules are not always reliable. Bajans drive on the left and the main roads are easy to drive on but group tours and excursions are the recommended way to see the island. If you really want to explore solo, why not hire an open-topped jeep for the day when you want to explore?
